Our bird nursery

The chickadee babies have arrived!

Mom and dad have been very busy flitting from tree to shrub to clematis trying to find enough food for their hungry chicks.

We have no idea how many chicks there are - it could be as many as sixteen.  It'll be about two weeks before they come out of the nest so we can count them.

Meanwhile, it's hard work to keep everyone happy all the time.  Some of these photos aren't the best but we have to take them from inside the house through glass with a zoom.  And those little birds move all the time.

Sixteen in that itty-bitty incubator? That's a lot of chickadees!

These are good pictures considering that they are Chickadees. Nervous flitters never stopping. I can't wait to see if you get pictures of the babies. Maybe they won't be as fast, because they will be still learning.

You should look into a remote for your camera. You could then set the camera up outside and just make it click from inside. I bought one for $30 at a camera store...

Can't wait to see the little ones!

It is exciting to think of all the little chicks that could be in the bird house. Mom and Dad are going to be really busy for awhile.

It is hard to find a non moving Chicksdee, sometimes they are difficult tp get pictures of. Its suc fun to watch birds at birdhouses. Our Tree Sparrows were in the bird house today, but they haven't started nest building yet. but they are busy demonstrating ownership of the bird house.

Ohhh how cute! We think we have some kind of tits nesting in the bird box outside our house, so hopefully I'll have some photos to share soon, too.
